Sailboat Named After Maserati is Set to Break Speed Records at Sea

Having difficulty picturing the words Maserati and boat in the same sentence? In all actuality, it is not that big of a surprise. In fact, Maserati has provided engines to a variety of racing boats for powerboat championships in Italy and around the world. But, now a 70-foot VOR carbon-fiber mono-hull racing yacht which previously competed in a round-the-world race in 2008-2009 has been officially named Maserati. Now, don't get too excited, it appears that the extent of Maserati's participation does not extend pass lending its name.

World-renowned skipper Giovanni Soldini along with his nine-man crew will set sail in attempt to break the records for three ocean routes which includes Cadiz to San Salvador, Miami to New York, and New York to Lizard Point, UK.
